Embark on a brand-new journey within your Paramedic career as a Cruise Ship Paramedic, and travel the world while providing outstanding on-board care!
As a Cruise Ship Paramedic on one of 70 ships across 5 fleets, you will face an exciting and unique environment, joining a skilled team of Doctors, Nurses, and Paramedics within the well-equipped shipboard medical centre to deliver patient-centred routine and emergency healthcare to everyone aboard. You will:
- Act as a first responder, triaging emergency calls, assessing and treating on scene, and transferring patients to the medical centre.
- Practise within the daily walk-in clinic, working autonomously under the doctors and Senior Nurse to assess patients and provide appropriate treatment & advice.
- Help maintain the medical centre by performing equipment checks, medicines & inventory management, emergency drills, and training of colleagues.
Technical skills will be learned and practiced on board, such as X-rays acquisition, alongside performance of a wide array of laboratory tests and other procedures.
Person specification:
- Advanced Life Support Paramedic qualification (or equivalent)
- Current registration and licence to practise with appropriate regulatory body (e.g. the UK’s HCPC)
- At least 3 years’ post-qualification, recent clinical experience in paramedicine, emergency medicine or other acute care setting
- A valid passport
- Eligibility to be issued a United States C1/D Visa (non-applicable for US or Canadian citizens)
- Fluency in English, both conversational and technical
- Commitment to completing at least 2 four-month contracts within a 12-month period
