A fantastic opportunity is now available for an ODP orTheatre Nurse to join the team within the Operating Department of a premier-level hospital in Guildford, as a Theatre Practitioner in Anaesthetics, Scrub or Recovery.

Rated “Good” in all areas, the hospital is a leader in both specialist elective services and patient satisfaction, meeting, or exceeding expectations for 98% of visitors (NHS and self-funded). Tightly coordinated with comprehensive medical, imaging, pharmacy, and physiotherapy services, the Operating Department sees a broad array of elective procedures across its 3 theatres, including:

  • Upper and Lower Limb and Spinal Orthopaedic and robotic-assisted surgeries.
  • A variety of General surgeries to include gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, ENT, gynaecology, urology, vascular, pain management, and oncology procedures.

Whether in a Scrub, Anaesthetics, or Recovery capacity, you will be able to be part of an exceptional team that offers excellent perioperative care throughout both routine investigations and complex surgeries.

This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5h) for a Theatre Practitioner with a mixed shift pattern.

Person specification:

Essential:

  • Registered with the NMC (Registered Nurse, RN Adult) or the HCPC (Operating Department Practitioner, ODP).
  • Experience in an operating theatre in Scrub, Anaesthetics, Endoscopy and or Recovery.

Desirable:

  • ILS and mentorship qualification or be willing to undergo training.
  • Senior Scrub Practitioners must have experience scrubbing for a range of procedures.
