Support Worker – Children and Young People

A leading Welsh charity is now looking for a kind and compassionate Support Worker to join the team in providing dedicated, person-centred support to local children and young people.
The Merthyr supported housing services provide focused support to children and young people with complex needs (such as mental health or substance misuse concerns) who have faced difficulties in finding sustainable accommodation, living independently, and/or developing their social skills and support network.
As a Support Worker with the charity, you will help local young people to make informed choices about their future, support them in developing independent living and thinking skills, and encourage inclusion in peer support and social development opportunities, so that they can move forward feeling safe, secure, and engaged in the community.
Types of Support Worker role available include:
- Housing Support Mentor
- Floating Support Worker
- Support Worker and Driver
- Support Worker
Each is apermanentposition for aSupport Workerworking with young people. Full-time or part-time hours are available. Enhanced pay rates will be offered for any evenings, sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
Person specification:
Previous experience as a Support Worker is preferable but not essential,however you must demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop.
