Salary: Band 5, £26,923-£33,508 (inclusive of supplementary payments)

A great opportunity has arisen to appoint motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (RMN/RSCN/RNLD) who are passionate about providing the best care to young people who will complement their existing healthcare professionals based in Southampton. You will be working within the first purpose built secure adolescent NHS unit in the south of England. They provide specialist care and treatment to young people aged between 12 - 18 years of age who are experiencing complex mental health difficulties and challenging behaviour. The presenting mental health difficulties of the young people admitted include mental illnesses (e.g. psychosis, affective disorders), developmental disorders including autistic spectrum disorders, complex post-traumatic presentations, affective and emotional instabilities, attachment disorders, and emerging personality disorders.
As a Mental Health Nurse (RMN/RSCN/RNLD) you will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (RMN/RSCN/RNLD) you will develop, implement and evaluate care plans in conjunction with service users, carers and other professionals ensuring individual needs are met. You will carry out all relevant forms of care and will be designated to take charge of a ward in the absence of a charge nurse.
Person Specification: NMC qualified (RMN/RNLD/RSCN) with the flexibility to be able to work a number of shift patterns as they provide a 24hr service.
