Person Specification: This hospital welcomes applications from Radiographers aspiring to be specialists in Cardiothoracic Imaging. This challenging role covers both diagnostic and interventional imaging for Adult, Paediatric and Grown Up Congenital Heart (GUCH) disease. If you have experience within Catheter Labs, you'll be expanding your knowledge, working in a progressive department.
Applicants must be prepared to work in all areas of Cardiothoracic Radiology. Participation in on call, evening shifts and weekend duties is essential, to meet the demands of this Regional Cardiac Centre. In addition to our 24 hour service for Primary Coronary Intervention, we provide a seven day service for Cardiothoracic In Patients.
As a Band 6 Senior Radiographer, sound knowledge and skills in the Catheter Lab or Interventional Radiology will be an advantage, but full training will be provided. We have four Siemens Catheter Labs which are currently being upgraded as part of a rolling equipment replacement programme.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and undertake additional roles and responsibilities in support of the management team.
Working in a challenging and changing environment, you will need to have excellent leadership, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Good attention to detail, ability to work independently and a flexible approach to work is crucial for this role.
Experience of Radiology IT systems such as PACS/RIS are essential and proficiency with Microsoft packages particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint are highly desirable.
Candidates must have a BSc (HONS) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent and current HPC membership.
There will be a chance to work in our new hybrid lab and possibly with potential to train in Cardiac MRI in the future.
