Description:

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) to join a highly reputable elderly care provider as a Deputy General Manager (Clinical) . This provider is a trusted and long-standing group, providing award-winning care to over 11,000 residents and patients throughout more than 200 care homes nationwide. As one of "the UK's 25 Best Big Companies to Work For" in 2021, the provider is also dedicated to investing in their employees, offering extensive training and continuous development opportunities on top of offering one of the best rewards packages in the entire care sector.

Located in a historic market town in the leafy West Sussex countryside, the home itself is modern and recently refurbished, with a 60-bed capacity (each with top-line amenities), elegant and spacious communal spaces, and beautiful gardens for residents to enjoy. With a current CQC rating of "Good", the home prides itself on its excellent, person-centred approach to care, and is looking for a new Deputy Clinical Manager who is just as committed to making the home an exceptional place to live.

As a Deputy Clinical Manager, you will be working for 40 hours/week for a salary of circa £49k/year, though this is flexible for the right candidate.

As part of the role, you will be working closely with the General Manager to deliver quality care to all residents, and will take on leadership duties in their absence. As such, you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team, leading by example and providing robust professional support to ensure the highest care standards are maintained and residents can enjoy the best possible quality of life in their later years. You will also be assessing potential residents, monitoring standards through regular audits, supervising clinical practice, and ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance in all areas, as well as assisting the General Manager in any investigations of clinical complaints, safeguarding incidents, and clinical risk assessments. Lastly, you will keep up with the latest developments in clinical practice and facilitate appropriate training of clinical staff in order to keep the home at the forefront of elderly care.

Person Specification:

To succeed in this role, you must be an RGN or RMN with current NMC registration and a teaching, mentoring or supervisory qualification.

You will have previous experience working in a nursing home or older person setting, and also in a clinical mentor position supporting newly qualified nurses through their preceptorship - the ideal candidate will have previously held a similar position of responsibility, such as a Clinical Lead, Nurse Manager or Clinical Service Manager.

Evidence of sales and marketing experience, HR experience, budget management, and successful resolution of safeguarding investigations is also highly desirable.
