Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join a leading hospice charity as a Quality Lead Nurse. Based in Lymington, this hospice is committed to providing outstanding holistic care tailored to the individual needs of the adults and children with terminal or life-limiting conditions throughout the New Forest, and as such, requires a Quality Lead Nurse that will continuously implement and improve the key quality initiatives that maintain the highest standards in the face of changing demands.

This position would suit experienced nurses who seek a compromise between managerial duties and the provision of clinical care, and who make it their mission to always strive for the best quality of care possible for all.

This is a full-time position with a 37.5-hour working week within office hours. The role will be weighted, with 2 days per week spent in the clinical departments of the hospice, where you will work alongside the inpatient, day hospice, and community teams to support and embed clinical quality initiatives and develop awareness of any quality issues.

The remaining 3 days per week will be spent desk-based in an office setting where you will be developing new quality improvements and initiatives, managing clinical policies, developing the annual audit plans and quality accounts, and ensuring compliance to all CQC regulations.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration and demonstrated commitment to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and associated national guidelines

Significant clinical experience and working knowledge of regulatory requirements in healthcare

Experience in clinical management and proven leaderships skills

Experience in the implementation and development of clinical practice, governance, and/or auditing, including the writing of associated policies, procedures, and reports

Ability to identify critical issues and priorities and act in a timely manner

Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills

Strong team player with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships

Proven influencing, negotiation, and diplomacy skills

Excellent IT skills including data analysis and presentation

Ability to work flexibly and with initiative

Excellent time management and ability to work well under pressure

Desirable:

Any relevant specialised training or qualifications

Working knowledge of the statutory requirements and supporting guidelines relating to specialist palliative care

Risk management experience

Prior high-level contributions made to quality and compliance in a healthcare setting
