This leading Broadstairs residential school is an acclaimed provider of specialist education and pastoral support for young people who are autistic and have associated learning disabilities, and is now looking for a Residential Support Worker to help provide a safe and welcoming environment for those staying within the on-site residential provisions.

The school is committed to providing comprehensive teaching in both academics and life skills that puts “the child as an individual” first, to treating each community member with gentleness and respect, to reducing the use of restrictive practices, and to enabling each pupil to reach their full potential.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will foster a supportive and encouraging setting for the young people living at the school, taking care to safeguard their physical health and mental wellbeing, and enabling pupils’ ongoing learning and personal development in their academics, social relationships, and independent living skills.

This is a permanent role, with the following contracts available:

  • Part-time (15-16 hours per week), mornings only, term-time only
  • Full-time, term-time only - learning support focus
  • Full-time, year-round

Term-time roles cover 41 weeks per year, while year-round roles cover the full 52 weeks.

 

Person specification:

Previous experience in residential childcare is not required but will be an advantage.

You must be willing to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if you have not already done so).
