A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Scrub Theatre Practitioner (Nurse or ODP) to join the Theatres team at this “Good”-rated Guildford hospital, which specialises in acute elective and urgent surgical and medical services.

This leading independent healthcare provider – rated one of the UK’s “25 Best Companies to Work For” in 2021 – is looking for a Lead Scrub Practitioner (Nurse or ODP) to join the expanding Theatres department, due to their long-established hospital benefitting from an extensive investment programme that is keeping its facilities, technology, and workforce at the very forefront of medical care.

As a Lead Scrub Practitioner, you will support and assist the management of care provision within the Operating Department, including taking a senior, guiding role in the delivery of optimal surgical care, as patients undergo one of a wide range of both routine and complex procedures such as ophthalmological, orthopaedic, cosmetic, and urological surgeries.

This is a full-time, permanent Lead Scrub Practitioner role (37.5 hours/week) with a flexible shift pattern.

Person specification:

You must have valid registration with either the NMC as a Registered Nurse (Adult Nursing), or with the HCPC as an Operating Department Practitioner.

You must have significant experience of working within an operating department as a Scrub Practitioner, including some experience in a senior position such as Surgical First Assistant.
